The Outbreak: What You Need to Know

The FDA and CDC are currently investigating seven reported illnesses across seven states (Arizona, Florida, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee, and Washington). Of those cases, three people have required hospitalization.

What makes this outbreak particularly concerning is the nature of the bacteria. The specific strain identified (Salmonella Newport) is extensively drug-resistant.

According to the CDC, this strain is resistant to all first-line and alternative antibiotics commonly recommended for treatment.

It also carries a gene that may make it resistant to carbapenems, a powerful class of antibiotics usually reserved for severe infections.

Affected Products

The recall applies to Rosabella Moringa Capsules (60 count bottles) sold in white plastic bottles with a green label.

  • Where it was sold: Directly to consumers via tryrosabella.com and TikTok Shop since February 2025.
  • Unauthorized Sellers: The FDA notes that these may also have been distributed through unauthorized third-party sellers on eBay, Shein, and potentially Amazon. Even if you didn't buy directly from the brand, you should check your product.

How to Identify the Recalled Lots: Check the bottom of your bottle for the Lot Code (the middle seven digits printed above the expiration date). The recall covers a wide range of lots with expiration dates ranging from 03/2027 to 11/2027.

Common Lot Series Include:

  • Lots starting with 502 (Exp 03/2027)
  • Lots starting with 503 (Exp 04/2027)
  • Lots starting with 504 (Exp 05/2027)
  • Lots starting with 505 (Exp 06/2027)
  • Lots starting with 506 (Exp 07/2027)
  • Lots starting with 508 (Exp 09/2027)
  • Lots starting with 509 (Exp 10/2027)
  • Lots starting with 510 (Exp 11/2027)

(For the complete list of all 50+ specific lot numbers, please verify against the official FDA notice.)

Symptoms and Risks

Healthy individuals infected with Salmonella often experience fever, bloody diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. Symptoms usually start 6 hours to 6 days after ingesting the bacteria.

While most people recover without treatment, the drug-resistant nature of this strain poses a higher risk, especially to children, the elderly, and those with compromised immune systems.

If you experience severe symptoms, contact your healthcare provider immediately and inform them of your potential exposure to this specific drug-resistant strain.

What Should You Do?

  • Do Not Consume: Stop using the product immediately.
  • Dispose or Return: Throw the bottle away or return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
  • Sanitize: Thoroughly wash and sanitize any containers, surfaces, or items that may have come into contact with the capsules.
  • Contact the Company: For questions, you can contact Ambrosia Brands, LLC at 914-768-1357 (Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM CT).

We will continue to monitor this situation and update our readers as more information becomes available. Stay safe and always check the labels of your supplements.
